Kids Workbooks Guide: Educational Workbooks for Ages 3 to 11

One wizard creates the 9 workbooks and the 5 books of a single game: maths, telling time, handwriting, word games, drawing, measures, logic and pictures. This guide explains each step and how the book is organised.

Before you start

The workbooks are in the Kids tab of the dashboard, on every LogikLand plan, including FREE. Commercial rights, which you need to sell your books on Amazon KDP, come with the PRO and EXPERT plans.

See all the workbooks and real example pages on the kids workbook generator page.

Create a workbook step by step

  1. 1

    Choose a workbook

Open the Kids tab of your dashboard. Each workbook card shows its ages and its games. Click a card to see the list of worksheets and 3 example pages, then click Create this book.

  2. 2

    Book

Choose the language of the book (English, French, Spanish, German or Italian), its title and the page size: 8.5 x 11 inches is recommended, because the worksheets are designed for this size, and 6 x 9 inches is also available. Keep or remove the certificate at the end of the book.

  3. 3

    Exercises

Choose the levels by school grade or by age, from one level to the next. Every worksheet that exists at these levels is selected: untick the ones you do not want and set the number of pages of each worksheet per level (0 to 60). When a worksheet only exists at some of your levels, they are written under its name. Extra fields appear when needed: the child’s first name, or the second language of the picture dictionary.

  4. 4

    Layout

Keep or remove the answer key at the end, choose 2 or 4 answers per page, and set the margins from 0.25 to 2 inches. The page counter compares the length of the book with the page limit of your plan.

  5. 5

    Generate, edit and export

Click Generate Book. Your project opens in the visual editor, where you can change texts and positions, save your work, and download the book as a PDF or an editable PPTX file.

How the book is organised

  • A title page with the title of the book and its levels.
  • If the book has several levels: a separator page before each level, then the worksheets of that level.
  • Each worksheet has a “Name” and “Date” line and a short instruction at the top.
  • Worksheets to cut out on a right-hand page, with a blank back.
  • The certificate, if you kept it.
  • The answer key: each answer shows the page number of its worksheet. Tracing, colouring, drawing and the other free activities have no answer.

Tips

  • Our suggestion: make one book per age or per school grade. Parents look for a book that matches their child, and a short range keeps the book easy to describe.
  • For the activity workbook, keep a few levels: with every subject, each level adds many pages.
  • Look at the 3 example pages of each card before you choose: they are made at a middle level, in the language of the screen.
  • Write the age or the grade in the title and on the cover. The cover creator of LogikLand can make the full KDP cover of your book.

Margins and Amazon KDP requirements

Amazon KDP margin requirements depend on your trim size and your page count: the inside margin must be larger for thicker books. Check the official KDP margin guidelines, preview your file in the KDP previewer, and increase the margins in the Layout step if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Are the kids workbooks included in the FREE plan?

Yes. Every workbook is available on every plan. The plan sets the maximum number of pages per book (50 on FREE, 100 on PRO, 200 on EXPERT) and the commercial rights, which come with PRO and EXPERT.

Why is the Generate button greyed out?

The page counter shows that the book is longer than the page limit of your plan, or no worksheet is selected. Choose fewer levels, fewer worksheets or fewer pages per level. For example, the activity workbook with every subject from ages 3 to 11 is longer than 200 pages.

How do the school grades work?

In grade mode, the levels go from Preschool to Grade 5 for a book in English, and from Petite section to CM2 for a book in French: the grades follow the country of the book language. Each grade matches an age, from 3-4 to 10-11.

Why are some pages blank?

A worksheet to cut out (cutting practice, memory game, cut-out puzzle) is placed on a right-hand page, and its back is left blank with a short note. Sometimes a blank page is added before it so that it falls on the right. In a book printed on both sides, the child can cut out the sheet without cutting another worksheet.

Can I print the child’s first name?

Yes. When the “My name” worksheets are selected, a field asks for the first name (letters only, 20 at most). Leave it empty to print the word “Name” in the book language. The free name tracing worksheet on our site does the same without an account.

Are two books with the same settings identical?

No. The numbers, words and pictures are drawn again for each book, so two books made with the same settings have different pages.
