Tips for a kids activity book that parents want to buy

  • Say the age range clearly in the title and on the cover. Parents often look for a book that matches the age of their child.
  • Start each section gently. Put the easiest puzzles first, so that a child finishes the first pages alone and wants to continue.
  • Use variety on purpose. A book that alternates Sudoku, word searches and mazes keeps a child interested longer than a long section of the same puzzle.
  • Keep the instructions short. A short "How to Play" page for each puzzle type helps a child who meets a puzzle for the first time.
  • Keep the solutions, so that a parent can check a puzzle when a child is stuck.
  • Think about a series. Three books, one for each age group, are easier to explain and to promote than one book that tries to cover every age.

Margin requirements depend on your trim size and page count, so check the official Amazon KDP guidelines and preview your file in the KDP previewer before you publish.

Kids activity book generator: frequently asked questions

How do I create a kids activity book for Amazon KDP with LogikLand?

Open the Kids tab of your LogikLand dashboard and start the Kids Mixed wizard. Choose the language, the title and the page size (8.5 x 11 or 6 x 9 inches), pick the puzzle types you want, set up each type, decide whether the puzzles are shuffled or kept in a fixed order, then check the layout and generate the book. Your project opens in the visual editor, where you can adjust it and download a PDF or an editable PPTX file.

Which puzzle types can I put in a kids activity book?

The Kids Mixed wizard combines Sudoku, word searches and mazes in one book. You can choose all three types or only some of them.

How are the puzzles adapted to the age of the child?

The wizard has three age groups, 4-6, 6-8 and 8-10 years. By default, Sudoku uses 4x4, 6x6 and 9x9 grids, word searches use 6x6, 8x8 and 10x10 grids with 4, 6 and 8 words, and mazes use 7x7, 10x10 and 15x15 grids. You can change these settings for each puzzle type.

Can I choose the order of the puzzles?

Yes. You can shuffle the puzzle types through the book, or keep each type in its own section and set the order of the sections by dragging and dropping them.

Where do the words of the word searches come from?

From the built-in word lists of LogikLand. For each word search you choose between random words and one or several themed categories, and you can generate the book in English, French, Spanish, German or Italian.

Does the book include solutions and instructions?

Yes. The wizard creates solution pages for your puzzles, and each puzzle type can have its own How to Play page for young readers.

Is there a free generator for kids activity books?

This page has no free generator because it combines three puzzle types, but you can try two of them without an account: the free kids Sudoku generator and the free kids maze generator. The Kids Mixed wizard is in your dashboard once you have an account, and the maximum number of pages per book depends on your plan: see the Pricing page.

Can I sell the kids activity books I create?

Yes, with a PRO or EXPERT plan, which include commercial rights: you can publish and sell your books on Amazon KDP, Etsy or your own website. The free samples on this page, and anything created on the FREE plan, are for personal use.

Which formats and page sizes can I export?

You can export a PDF or an editable PPTX file, in 8.5 x 11 inch or 6 x 9 inch page sizes. Amazon KDP margin and bleed requirements depend on your trim size and page count, so check the official KDP guidelines and preview your file in the KDP previewer before you publish.
