Free Word Scramble Generator
Pick a level and get a page of 10 mixed-up words to put back in order, with the answers on a second page. The words come from a list of common English words, so nothing obscure gets in the way.

Free tool, for personal use, one puzzle at a time. The PDF is a US Letter page with a small LogikLand footer.
What is a word scramble?
A word scramble is the quickest word game to explain: the letters are all there, just in the wrong order. Each word has answer lines beside it, one line per letter, so the page works well in a classroom, at a family table or on a coffee break.
The generator avoids words that share the same letters with another word on its list, so each scramble has the answer the key expects.

How to solve a word scramble
- The letters of each word have been mixed up. Put them back in the right order to find the word.
- Write your answer on the lines to the right, one letter per line. Use every letter exactly once.
- In the easier puzzles, the first letter of the answer is already written for you.
How to start
Look for common endings such as -ING, -ER or -ED and common pairs such as TH, CH and SH. Set them aside, and the rest of the letters are much easier to read.
The levels
| Level | What you get |
|---|---|
| Easy | 3 to 5 letters, first letter given |
| Medium | 5 to 7 letters, first letter given |
| Hard | 6 to 9 letters |
| Expert | 8 letters and more |
Tips
- Start at Easy or Medium if the page is for children: the first letter of each answer is already written.
- Write the letters in a circle on scrap paper. A new layout often makes the word jump out.
- Print the first page only if you want to hand out the puzzle and keep the answers for yourself.
