How to Create a Sudoku X Book for Amazon KDP

Sudoku X, also called diagonal Sudoku, adds the two long diagonals to the classic rules. Generate a print-ready Sudoku X book with 4 difficulty levels and the solutions at the end.

Before you start

The Sudoku X wizard is available on every LogikLand plan, including the FREE plan, from the dashboard. Commercial rights, which you need to sell your books on Amazon KDP, come with the PRO and EXPERT plans.

The diagonals are shaded in grey on every grid. The extra rule gives more ways to find digits, which makes Sudoku X a natural next step for Sudoku solvers.

How to play Sudoku X

  • Fill the grid so that every row, every column and every 3 x 3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once.
  • Sudoku X adds one rule: each of the two long diagonals, shown in grey, must also contain the digits 1 to 9 exactly once.
  • Every grid has a single solution.

These rules are printed at the start of your book when you add the “How to play” page.

Tips for a Sudoku X puzzle book

  • Use the detailed “How to play” guide: it shows the diagonal rule with examples.
  • Mix Easy and Medium grids in a first book; Hard and Expert grids need elimination techniques.
  • Choose 1 or 2 grids per page in 6 x 9 inches so that the digits stay large enough.
  • A Large Print Sudoku X wizard is in the Seniors tab of the dashboard: one large grid per page by default, big print and large print instructions.

Margins and Amazon KDP requirements

Amazon KDP margin requirements depend on your trim size and your page count: the inside margin must be larger for thicker books. Check the official KDP margin guidelines, preview your file in the KDP previewer, and increase the margins in the Layout step if needed.
