How to Create a Quote Slices Book for Amazon KDP

The Quote Slices wizard is available on every LogikLand plan, including the FREE plan, from the dashboard. Commercial rights, which you need to sell your books on Amazon KDP, come with the PRO and EXPERT plans.

There are 3 levels: pieces of 4, 3 or 2 letters. The sentences are written by LogikLand, not quotations from famous people.

• A sentence was written in the grid, then cut into small pieces, which are mixed under the grid.
• Put each piece back in its place, between the thick lines. The black squares show where words end.
• Read the grid from left to right, line by line: the sentence appears.

These rules are printed at the start of your book when you add the “How to play” page.

   Book settings

   Choose the language of your book (English, French, Spanish, German or Italian), enter its title, select the page size (8.5 x 11 inches or 6 x 9 inches), and decide whether to add a short “How to solve” page.

   Puzzles

   Choose One level for a single difficulty, or Several levels to set a number of grids for each level in the same book.

   Layout

   Choose the title of each puzzle (name, level and number, or the number only). One sentence per page, with the grid on top and the mixed pieces below. Solutions: 1, 2, 4 or 6 per page (1, 2 or 4 in the Large Print edition). Then set the top, bottom, left and right margins, from 0.25 to 2 inches. A page counter shows the estimated length of your book compared with the page limit of your plan.

   Generate, edit and export

   Click Generate Book. Your project opens in the visual editor, where you can change texts, fonts and positions, save your work, and download the book as a PDF or an editable PPTX file.

• Start with the Easy level: pieces of 4 letters often contain a whole short word.

Amazon KDP margin requirements depend on your trim size and your page count: the inside margin must be larger for thicker books. Check the official KDP margin guidelines, preview your file in the KDP previewer, and increase the margins in the Layout step if needed.
