How to Create a Mandala Coloring Book for Amazon KDP
Generate a coloring book of mandalas for adults, with simple patterns or a theme: flowers, seasons or zodiac signs. Each mandala is drawn by LogikLand, one per page.
Before you start
The Mandalas wizard is available on every LogikLand plan, including the FREE plan, from the dashboard. Commercial rights, which you need to sell your books on Amazon KDP, come with the PRO and EXPERT plans.
There are 3 levels of detail, from 5 rings with large areas to 11 rings with thin lines. A coloring book has no solutions.
How to use this book
- Each mandala is made of rings of shapes repeated around the centre. Start from the centre or from the edge, as you prefer.
- Choose your own colors: there is no right or wrong answer, and no solution at the end of the book.
- Place a sheet of paper behind the page you are coloring if you use felt-tip pens.
These rules are printed at the start of your book when you add the “How to play” page.
Create your Mandalas book step by step
- 1
Book settings
Choose the language of your book (English, French, Spanish, German or Italian), enter its title, select the page size (8.5 x 11 inches or 6 x 9 inches), and decide whether to add a short “How to solve” page.
- 2
Puzzles
Choose a theme and a level, or several levels in the same book. In a themed book, each new mandala takes the next flower, season or zodiac sign.
- 3
Layout
Choose the title of each puzzle (name, level and number, or the number only). One mandala per page. You can leave the back of each mandala blank, so that felt-tip ink does not spoil the next drawing; the book then has twice as many pages. Then set the top, bottom, left and right margins, from 0.25 to 2 inches. A page counter shows the estimated length of your book compared with the page limit of your plan.
- 4
Generate, edit and export
Click Generate Book. Your project opens in the visual editor, where you can change texts, fonts and positions, save your work, and download the book as a PDF or an editable PPTX file.
Difficulty levels
| Level | What the puzzles look like |
|---|---|
| Easy | 5 rings, large areas |
| Medium | 8 rings |
| Hard | 11 rings, thin lines and small details |
Tips for a Mandalas puzzle book
- Keep the blank backs if your readers use felt-tip pens.
- Prefer the 8.5 x 11 inch format for the Hard level: the small details stay easy to color.
- Use 12 mandalas, or a multiple of 12, in a zodiac book, so that each sign appears as often as the others.
Margins and Amazon KDP requirements
Amazon KDP margin requirements depend on your trim size and your page count: the inside margin must be larger for thicker books. Check the official KDP margin guidelines, preview your file in the KDP previewer, and increase the margins in the Layout step if needed.
Frequently asked questions
Are the mandalas all different?
Yes. Each one is built at random from rings of shapes when the book is created.
What are the themes?
Simple, flowers, seasons and zodiac signs. Themed mandalas show the flower, the season or the sign in the centre and in one ring.
Does the book have solutions?
No. A coloring book has nothing to solve, so there is no solutions section.
